So, tomorrow is my last day at work. This gives me some time to think about the last year at Faith Regional Health Services. One of the harder things about Lynn and I entering the mission field is me quitting my job at the end of June. So, in a way... a tribute... to the people of the NT Group!! Kim - I think when Kim moved her desk the real reason was because I asked too many questions. During my first few months at work, it took me a while to get used to how things operated. Kim has always been the one that would fix the difficult problems I was having. Oh, and just so everyone knows, Kim is getting married!! So, congratulations Kim, our prayers will be with you and your future husband! How exciting! Favorite Memory : After we had my first meeting with marketing, I really had no idea what I had gotten myself into. Kim explained though :) juust kidding Bobbi - Bobbi is (in my book) the access/sql queen!! She knows everything there is to know about access. This knowledge really came in handy when I would design web applications. Bobbi was my designated tester, opinionater, and friend. So much has happened with Bobbi and her family since I have been at FRHS. (Bobbi also would have the coolest e-mails and videos!!) Favorite Memory : When Bobbi popped her head around the corner asking me if I really proposed to my girlfriend(now wife). Cheryl - Cheryl is the secretary lady from Humphrey. She is always so nice and would ask how things were going whenever I would go to get water. I think that the best thing about Cheryl is that she would always talk to John when he needed to talk. I had the perfect avenue to listen to all of the conversation. Cheryl is so nice :) Favorite Memory : One of the first times I drove from Columbus to Norfolk for work, this lady passed me on the highway. Boy, she was booking. I thought she looked familiar... it was Cheryl!! That's when I found out Cheryl was from Humphrey (where lots of Lynn's family lives) Don - Don made my interview process very enjoyable. He has this way of being very personable with people by taking the time to talk with you. He's been around computers a lot and he likes to tell stories. When I first changed the intranet he asked me to office and I freaked out a little. But he just wanted to tell me how nice it looked. *phew* Favorite Memory :When we had our Christmas party at the bowling alley I thought for sure that Don was going to hurt himself doing all of the "trick" bowls that we were required to do. But he actually did very well. It was nice to get to know my director better. Paul - Paul was my cube neighbor the entire time at FRHS. Paul and his wife had a beautiful baby boy a few months after I started named Breckon. I'm pretty sure that everybody in the hospital knows Paul.(Yes probably EVERYONE) Paul is known for having all of the fun "toys", but... I'm pretty sure he's jealous of my projector (which makes me feel a little special). Favorite Memory : When I was able to do a nice picture of Breckon for Paul as a surprise. He is getting SO BIG! (Breckon that is) Darren - Darren is the Linux Geek at FRHS. Darren was always the one to ask if nobody else knew the answer. I've heard that he has the coolest video game setup (no offense Jim) with his Ninetendo Wii. Of everyone at FRHS, I think that Darren is one of the most knowledgable people there. If you have a question about how to connect your computer to your tv, back again, to the next door neighbors, and then back to your TV... Just ask Darren. Favorite Memory : Paul was supposed to take a computer part to Darren in another town. I volunteered so Paul could get some other things done and when I got there and found Darren the first thing he said was..."I thought Paul was coming" (I'm sorry I'm not as cool as Paul) juuuust kidding :) Jim - Jim is the NT groups resident geek. And I don't think he would be ashamed to admit that. I finally got to see Jim's house and meet his family. I'm pretty sure that his kids are the cutest kids in the world. Of all the people in the office, Jim is the MOST like Dwight Schrute. There is a close second, but Jim is first. Favorite Memory : Definately going over to Jim's house and having lunch with his family and sweet arcade machine. If only I was as cool as Jim. John - John is the guy that knows a little bit about everything. But everyone knows his specialty is customer service! When I first got my camera for the virtual tours, John had to show me all of the cool things. (I think he was a little jealous) Secretly we had our own little "glaring" game and John won every time. His "glare" is simply masterful! Favorite Memory : John likes to talk, a lot. One night when I stayed late, John and I had a great conversation about church stuff. John was also very talkative and comedic at the Christmas party... Matt - Matt is the office prodigy. He's the young guy that knows A LOT!! He's kind of like... Ryan (from the office of course). When people would knock on our office door (that was NEVER locked between 8-5) Matt would give me the look of "just go open the door of the poor person who doesn't know it's already open." Favorite Memory : Just recently when I moved the intranet server, one of the things that needed changed was the AMMS service. I asked Matt if he was OK with me moving it over, and he was... but then later that night... it broke. Matt was on call. He called, I fixed it. I was so proud :) Clarey - Clarey is my friendly fellow PS3 owner. He's also the one that would accompany me on many of the "marketing missions." A while ago Clarey got on this healthy plan which involved drinking a lot of water. You would NEVER see him without his waterbottle full of water. He would sip on that thing all day, even at staff meetings! Now THAT is devotion!! Favorite Memory : One of the first times I drove Lynn's car to work, I left the lights on; all day. When I came out to my vehicle, it was completely dead. So, Clarey was nice enough to take me to his house, grab some jumper cables and then give me a jump. (I was afraid the Excursion was going to blow the Plymouth to pieces when he did that) Justin - I think Justin's secret plan was to make me the third Help Desk person. I would go with Justin over to West Campus when things were slow in web development. Those times when we would go to west were so much fun. I got to move. No really, I got to walk around, sometimes even lift things!! Favorite Memory : There was one time when Justin and I were moving some computers and I had to make this rig to pull one of the cords behind the "immovable desk." Justin didn't think I could do it, but.... I did. (There are way more stories than even that) I would consider every one of these people my friend. I was very blessed to be able to be a part of such a great team of people during the last year. I just want them to know that whenever I think of them I will say a prayer and hopefully will try and stay in contact; maybe even come back and visit :) You all will be missed. God Bless, Erik P.S.Just so you all know, three monitors is amazing!! You should really try it!!
